Smooth.
Does anyone else make themselves cups of tea, get caught-up doing something else that may or may not involve working, suddenly remember that they made a cup of tea, realise that it's now luke-warm, but drink it anyway?
Just me?
I don't remember what it's like to drink hot tea...
Hot tea, macaroons, pear tart, latte and cookies at The French Fancies, Edinburgh. Yep, this was all just for the 2 of us. |
Just a little insight into my daily life. It's really thrilling, isn't it?
Soooooo. It's raining again.
I know, I have a truly absorbing obsession with documenting the weather, but hey, I'm British English by birth, actually, but let's not split hairs.
It started raining as I dropped DPB to the airport yesterday.
Pathetic fallacy or what?
True story: I was pretty sure I knew what pathetic fallacy was - er, thanks, Ph.D. in English Lit. - but I looked it up in my Dictionary of Literary Terms anyway. Turns out I was right. Phew.
So yes, the sky is crying because I am sad. Lordy, surely that has to win a prize for most self-absorbed sentence EVER? Don't answer that...
Source Question: how sad would you have to be for it to rain this much? |
Oh well, it was still my most major sporting achievement to date.
Lord's, eat your heart out. |
There was some serious competitive sandcastle building going on. |
Two of my most favourite hot chocolates ever:
It's lucky I don't let strange looks from people put me off taking photos of my drinks. |

I am constantly drinking warmish tea. I have a habit of making a cup, taking a too-hot sip, then suddenly deciding I need a shower. (Usually in the morning... or not. My days get lazy sometimes.) Then I emerge to warm (if I didn't shave my legs) tea. Or cold.
*sad* on DPB leaving. That's no fun.
Also, the American in me just giggled profusely over "squirty cream." Yes, my mind is in the gutter, and yes, my American friends will be hearing that one. :)
those look yummy!
I don't understand why it's not socially acceptable for a grown woman to order a mug of squirty cream and marshmallows. There is something seriously wrong with the world we are living in. And as for the hot tea turned luke warm tea situation, it happens to the best of us.
